The United Christian Community Association (TUCCA) is a faith based non-profit, S01(c) (3) tax exempt organization. This organization was founded in 1998 by three rural churches (Bethel Springs, Bethel Hill, and Aimwell) of Marengo and Perry Counties, Alabama. It is governed by a 17 member board of directors, representing the above churches. The primary purpose of the organization is "To generate funds in an effort to support the elderly, widows, poor, and needy through holistic worship service, fellowship, and a Christian life center to enhance youth development and general counseling."

Since its inception, the organization has been blessed and functioning at a very progressive level to include the following:

·          Purchased 44 acres of land in the Taylor Community.

·         Developed and landscaped property for recreation and production of agriculture demonstrations.

·         Constructed a five acre lake, softball field, and pavilion.

·         Established an Adult Day Health Nutrition Center.

·         Hired a fulltime Director, Part-time Nurse, and two senior aides along with other project support staff including those holding a juris doctor degree.

·         Administered grants from United Ways of Alabama, American Red Cross, Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation, SARE, Perry County Board of Education, Southern Sustainable Agricultural Working Group and USDA.

·         Employed a volunteer CEO to manage a $100,000/+ year operation.

 

TUCCA is located in the Taylor Community (Safford), 12 miles south of Uniontown, AL on Marengo County Road # 65 or 9 miles east of Thomaston, Al and 30 miles west of Selma, Alabama.
