On June 7, 2008, the Deacons of the New Bethel Spring Baptist Church purchased 2 acres of land more or less to include a church lot on the Taylor Place, lying on the East side of the public road leading from Corley, AL to Uniontown, AL, north or Lee Perkin Place. This purchase included the school house, the church and the graveyard, the total cost of this purchase was thirty five dollars.
The Deacons involved in this purchase were: Alfred Hayes, Sr., James Flanagan, Daniel Robinson, Roberts Houston, Isaac Hamilton, and Alonza Massey. The Majority of the members that exist in the church today are descendants of Deacon Alonza Massey. The Bethel Spring Baptist Church is very proud of the existing building and the ministries that are being carried out in various departments and capacities.
This body of worshippers and believers are extremely proud of the seven pastors that have provided spiritual leadership to this local congregation for the past 96 years. The pastors were: Pastor Dick Dumas, Pastor B. Lovett, Pastor Elijah Acoff, Pastor L.T. Foster, Pastor J.M. Jones, Pastor W.J. Waller and present Stephen F. Smith. Addition Deacons added to the church to assist the pastor were: Warrant Coleman, Jack Leshore, Elias Williams, Sr., Lawerence Coleman, Tom Hayes, Jim Coleman, Joseph Waller, Sr, (now pasturing), Alonzo Tucker and Loin Fletcher. In 1957-58 and under the pastorship of W.J. Waller, the original wood frame church building was torn down and reconstructed with a concrete block structure. To date, and electrical system has also been installed.
In the fall of 1980, Pastor Stephen Smith was elected Pastor and under his leadership the following infrastructure development and ministries have been instituted: constructed restroom facilities and office space as well as a deep well, constructed fellowship hall and dining facility, remodeled sanctuary and installed central climate control heating and cooling system, transitioned from one Sunday per month to full time; installed baptismal pool and started children’s church, created a gift shop and spear headed outreach ministry. Before the baptismal pool was install the church performed baptism ceremonies were was perform at the pool located on HWY 66 and the spring located across the road from the church. Bethel Spring Baptist Church was the original member of the United Christian Community Association. Moreover r, under Pastor Smith leadership, a technology system to enhance praise and worship has been installed.
To this date, the church has approximately 42 active members on roll to include the following officers and administrators:

Nord, Minister; Cleaford Tucker, Deacon; Jerome Turner, Deacon(Sunday School Superintendent); Dominic Hudson, Deacon(Church Treasurer); Andrew Williams, Deacon;Fred Turner ,Sr., Deacon; Marilyn Miller, Church Clerk.
Sister M. Moss is the mother of the church and Deacon Fred L. Turner is the elder brother and both are grandchildren of Alonza Massey.
We thank God for giving the vision to our forefathers and elders to establish this local congregation, and we pray for wisdom to take this vision to the next level in years to come. This is our church history.
